Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Job Type: Contract

Job Location: Duarte, CA

Job Duties:

  • Prepares specimens for analysis.
  • Performs and reports waived, moderate, or high complexity clinical laboratory procedures.
  • Reading Gram Stains, especially Positive Blood Cultures, AFB Stains, KOH stains, Fungal Stains, Parasitology stains, and perform Molecular Clinical PCR testing.
  • Performs all procedures in compliance with written SOPs and FACT, AABB, ACHI, CAP, FDA and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Assists in teaching students and staff.

Job Requirements:

  • California CLS license required.
  • 1-year Clinical Microbiology CLS is required, preferred Hospital based.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in microbiology department. Molecular, biology experience will not a substitute for this.
  • Must also have experience in reading Gram Stains, especially Positive Blood Cultures, AFB Stains, KOH stains, Fungal Stains, Parasitology stains, and perform Molecular Clinical PCR testing.

Schedule:

  • 4:00 PM-12:30 PM
  • Will work rotating weekends
  • Every other weekend a must
  • Willingness to work holidays a must

Pay: $50.00 per hour
