The Site Construction Supervisor will collaborate closely with the site superintendent and project management team, engage in constructability assessments, oversee daily project activities during construction phases, and assist in maintaining project documentation.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising field operations related to ski lift and other ropeway projects. This role includes providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to safety standards, cost management, productivity, profitability, and overall work quality (including self-performed tasks). We seek motivated construction professionals with exceptional planning and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily safety briefings and emphasize compliance with safety regulations.
- Anticipate and prepare labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors ahead of time.
- Establish and communicate daily production targets for the team.
- Exhibit urgency and problem-solving skills when addressing issues.
- Document employees' daily work hours and track project progress.
- Ensure all deadlines, including projections and schedules, are met.
- Seek assistance when necessary and manage responsibilities effectively.
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain project timelines and provide updates to the superintendent/project manager.
- Organize deliveries and manage the staging area, ensuring efficient unloading of materials and equipment.
- Regularly verify deliveries for completeness and punctuality.
- Collaborate with engineers, management, and relevant stakeholders to meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Address any safety violations or deficiencies promptly.
- Serve as a skilled backup to the project superintendent, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate the necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to achieve project goals.
- Develop and oversee the construction plan in partnership with the project manager for successful project execution.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Foreman in the construction sector is required, with a preference for experience in ski lift construction or similar mountain projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in reading, interpreting, and executing blueprints, drawings, specifications, and plans.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality construction practices.
- Ability to swiftly identify and resolve issues.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including familiarity with construction software.
- Willingness to work 60-hour weeks during peak construction periods.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in construction within alpine conditions, the ski industry, or material transport.
- OSHA 30 certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in various weather conditions.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Comfortable working at heights of up to 80 feet.
- Able to climb ladders, traverse uneven terrain, and work in mountainous environments.
