Join our team at Children's Health as an Orthopedic Technician, where you will play a vital role in the care of our patients.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Orthopedic Technician to join our team. As an Orthopedic Technician, you will be responsible for applying and removing casts and splints, as well as providing patient care and education.
Responsibilities- Apply and remove casts and splints using manual or standard practices as guidelines.
- Perform basic casting, including the application of SPICA casts.
- Knowledge of theory and application of skin or skeletal traction.
- Work in an operating room environment as a first and second assistant or scrub technician under the direct supervision of a surgeon.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 2 years of full-time work experience in a hospital, clinic, office, or as an independent contractor working directly in the care of orthopedic patients.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association upon hire.
- National Board of Certification of Orthopedic Technologists (NBCOT) certification within 2 years of date of hire.
