The CT Technologist plays a vital role in producing high-quality imaging studies to assist physicians in formulating a medical diagnosis. This position requires a strong understanding of radiology technology and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducts radiology exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physicians and records.
- Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Starts I.V.'s, administers contrast media as directed and per protocol.
- Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately.
- Loads and operates power injectors for contrast media administration.
- Maintains accurate patient records.
- Assists in other modalities as requested and as allowed by licensure/certification.
- Graduate of 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology.
- 12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality.
- ARRT certification in Computed Tomography.
- Applicable State Licensure, where required.
- IV credentialed if applicable.
- BLS certification preferred.
- Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, stoop, lift, and walk without restrictions.
- Requires computer-related activities for extended periods of time.
- Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, write and key.
