Job Title: Brand Ambassador - Sales

Location: Michigan: Detroit

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Director of Field Marketing

Job Summary:

This dynamic field role is responsible for promoting and selling products to tobacco and smoke shops within a designated territory. The primary focus is to grow new accounts, strengthen relationships with existing customers, and maximize product visibility and availability in retail locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning & Execution:

    • Develop and execute a daily workflow, updating progress, sending emails, and proposing weekly/monthly plans. A key requirement is to visit 15-20 doors daily and participate in 2 events per month.

  • Product Promotion & Distribution:

    • Distribute sample packages and seeder packages to shop employees or owners during visits.

    • Conduct follow-up visits to assess restocking needs, secure new orders, and deepen account relationships.

  • Customer Acquisition & Data Collection:

    • Focus on acquiring new customers and leads, documenting detailed information on Monday.com & Google Sheets, including:

      • Shop address

      • Point of contact (name and phone number)

      • Shop's telephone number

      • Shop's website

      • Competitor products carried

  • Market Reporting:

    • Prepare a PowerPoint presentation at the end of each week & month summarizing activities, sales performance, market insights, and account growth.

    • Identify and report potential local events for brand sponsorship opportunities, seeking approval from the CMO for financial or product sponsorships.

  • Budget Management & Event Promotion:

    • Manage a monthly budget of $2,000 for off-premise opportunities aimed at network expansion.

    • Utilize funds to enhance brand awareness by hosting events, providing hospitality (meals, tickets), and inviting potential leads and customers to local events.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Maintain open communication with the Director and other team members regarding market conditions, competitive activities, and customer feedback.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize sales strategies and enhance market presence.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, particularly in field sales, brand promotion, or trade marketing.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Highly organized with effective time management skills.

  • Proficient in using route planning software and data entry platforms, especially Monday.com.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.

  • Strong presentation skills with experience in creating detailed reports and presentations.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Pay

  • Base Salary: $3,000 per month

  • Base Commission: ambassadors shall receive 8% on each sale.

  • Sales Threshold Bonuses:

    • If monthly sales exceed $10,000, ambassadors shall receive an additional 2% commission on the amount exceeding $10,000.

    • For Example: A sale made by ambassadors of $50,000 the commission calculation is as follows;

      • $50,000 x 8% = $4,000

      • $40,000 x 2% = $800

      • Total Commission = $4,800
