Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Custodian to join our team As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary facility for all members to enjoy.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by wet and dust mopping, dusting, window washing, vacuuming, floor cleaning, trash removal, bathroom/fixture cleaning, and general cleaning.
- Complete all scheduled duties, replace supplies when necessary, and maintain upkeep of custodial area and equipment.
- Record and report all needed repairs as directed.
- Ensure the YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Set Up and Event Support:
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, or ladders to prepare facilities for special events.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Six months or more of related experience preferred.
- BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF CLEANING METHODS, EQUIPMENT, PRODUCTS, AND THEIR SAFE, EFFICIENT USE REQUIRED.
- Completes YMCA required training upon hire.
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
