Program Operations Coordinator

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Management & Operations
- Lead and mentor program staff, promoting a culture focused on growth and restoration.
- Manage daily operations, ensuring adherence to safety and security protocols.
- Conduct informational sessions with potential students and their families.
- Oversee student enrollment, graduation processes, and record maintenance.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with students, families, and their support networks, connecting them to essential wraparound services for mental health, community health, and basic needs.
- Analyze and track student data to assess program effectiveness and student goal attainment.
- Coordinate class schedules, cumulative records, transcripts, and attendance reports in collaboration with educational partners.
- Implement programs to prepare, enroll, and support students in post-secondary education and certification pathways.
- Ensure the site meets student enrollment targets and maintains necessary documentation.
Community Collaboration
- Develop strong partnerships with school districts, community colleges, and local organizations.
- Facilitate a referral process with the district to connect students to the program.
- Provide regular updates to partners regarding program performance and impact.
- Prepare necessary reports for relevant authorities as requested.
- Participate in training sessions to maintain compliance with district regulations.
Curriculum & Instruction Oversight
- Supervise instructional activities, collaborating with educators to implement effective strategies for all students, including those with IEP or 504 plans.
- Work with district personnel on 504 transition plans and annual reviews, attending required training sessions.
- Develop and implement a blended learning program that creates pathways for success beyond the GED.
- Collaborate with the Director of Next GED Programs and other staff to enhance the educational program in alignment with ZD's mission and vision.
Assessment Coordination
- Schedule GED testing, manage the waiver process, and assist with accommodations.
- Serve as the assessment coordinator for district and state testing, ensuring compliance with training and state requirements.
Professional Development
- Commit to continuous growth through ongoing learning and program enhancement.
- Share best practices within the ZD network and support strategies for program improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to further the mission of Zero Dropouts and its programs.
Required:
- Experience in teaching and administration within a secondary educational environment, particularly in alternative settings.
- A strong commitment to empowering youth to overcome challenges and achieve success in education and employment.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional methods, blended learning, and post-secondary opportunities.
- Ability to engage effectively with high school students from diverse backgrounds and their families.
- Experience in collaborative work with internal teams, students, and external partners.
- Capacity to maintain appropriate boundaries with youth.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with the GED exam and related curriculum.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Bachelor's Degree, Colorado School Administrator's License, or Colorado Teacher License.
- Experience in recruiting, training, and managing staff to build effective teams.
- Knowledge of restorative practices and experience with IEPs, 504s, and ELD populations.
- Understanding of the local educational landscape and operations of alternative schools.
- Familiarity with the community, including local educational institutions and organizations.
This is a full-time role with demanding objectives, which may require extended hours and flexible scheduling. Staff members work year-round, with students attending Monday through Thursday.
