Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation and/or pre-portioning of food items (including beverages, salads, desserts, and other assigned dishes) for both regular and specialized diets in accordance with the planned menu and production sheets.
  • Utilizes proper food handling and safety protocols as per established policies to maintain hygiene and quality.
  • Ensures that meals are presented in an appealing and appetizing manner, employing appropriate tasting techniques to meet quality benchmarks prior to serving.
  • Maintains food at the correct temperatures throughout preparation and service, documenting temperatures as required by policy.
  • Adheres to procedures for serving meals to partners.
  • Engages effectively with residents and their families, providing a warm and welcoming demeanor, addressing concerns with a helpful and caring attitude, and responding to inquiries in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a 10th-grade education is required.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Capable of interpreting and implementing written or verbal policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
