Position Overview:

The Home Equity Loan Specialist is responsible for collaborating with individual applicants to meticulously review loan applications, ensuring completeness and accuracy. This role demands a keen eye for detail and effective communication with various stakeholders involved in the loan process to ensure timely and precise loan packaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering an outstanding customer experience through diverse communication channels.
  • Oversee the processing and management of a pipeline of refinance and purchase loans, ensuring adherence to closing deadlines and lock expiration periods.
  • Maintain a diverse pipeline of Conventional, FHA, and VA loans.
  • Facilitate effective and timely communication with both external clients (including third parties and vendors) and internal teams (such as Loan Officers, Underwriters, and Closers).
  • Stay informed and adapt to evolving mortgage guidelines.
  • Set clear borrower expectations throughout the mortgage process, establishing the processor as the primary point of contact until closing.
  • Request, gather, and analyze necessary documentation from borrowers, internal teams, and third parties for underwriting approval.
  • Provide interdepartmental support and adapt to changes seamlessly.
  • Aim to exceed productivity standards and expectations.
  • Establish appropriate points of contact with realtors and other referral sources.
  • Understand and request documentation requirements for mortgage financing, including tax transcripts, pay stubs, tax returns, and income calculations.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred 2 years of experience in mortgage processing.
  • Familiarity with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, and FHA guidelines.
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of 30-40 loans of varying types.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive under time constraints and in a dynamic environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset, capable of collaborating effectively with others.
  • Commitment to delighting clients throughout the process and enhancing overall experiences.
  • Knowledge of Encompass LOS.
  • Experience with Day One Certainty Validations, HomeReady, and HomePath products.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is provided below. The final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as experience, skills, and location.
