About the Opportunity
">Western Carolina University is seeking an experienced Lighting Design and Sound Technology Professor to join its School of Stage and Screen. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of theatre professionals.
">Job Summary
">We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in lighting design and sound technology to teach and mentor students at Western Carolina University. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Lighting Design or a related field, as well as significant professional experience in both areas.
">Responsibilities
">The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, be comfortable working at heights, and have a functional knowledge of software used in lighting design, including Vectorworks, Lightwright, and QLab. They will also have experience with ETC ION and Grand MA3 boards, and be familiar with projection design and technology.
">Benefits and Salary
">This is a nine-month tenure-track position with an estimated salary range of $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include a comprehensive health insurance plan, retirement plan contributions, and paid parental leave. Additionally, employees have access to tuition waivers for up to three courses per academic year, free group exercise classes, and discounted membership to the campus recreation center.
