Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Technician to join our team at Ferrara Pan Candy Co., Inc. in DeKalb. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and control daily and nightly cleaning activities to meet established standards.
  • Manage plant sanitation procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules.
  • Mentor and motivate Janitors and Balers on shift.
  • Participate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements.
  • Facilitate problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issues.
  • Monitor the Chemical storage and dispense the appropriate concentration for cleaning activities.
  • Receive and track sanitary and chemical inventory.
  • Monitor sanitation team in the use of chemicals and proper safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years sanitation experience in the food-industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP, BRC food safety, and GMP principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
