We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Technician to join our team at Wellness Pet Company.
About the Role:The Sanitation Technician will play a vital role in maintaining good housekeeping and sanitation procedures in all areas of the plant, including production, packaging, warehouse, and food ingredient receiving and storage systems.
Responsibilities:- Perform cleaning and sanitation responsibilities as assigned by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Inspect and promote adherence to food safety cleanliness in the handling of products, ingredients, and finished goods.
- Understand and use chemical or non-chemical pest control systems.
- Ensure chemical containers are properly marked and tagged.
- Follow and hold others accountable for following all company Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Safely operate a forklift to perform job duties as necessary.
- Experience in cleaning and sanitizing within a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks without constant oversight.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate using the English language.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to elements such as odor, noise, heat, cold, dust, and chemicals.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform tasks on a ladder or at heights.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and consecutively.
