Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Regency Hospitals, a division of Select Medical. As a Registered Dietitian, you will play a vital role in providing quality nutritional care to our patients who require extended hospital care.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Nutrition Care Plans: Collaborate with the medical staff, patients, families, and food service department to ensure the patients' nutrition care plans are implemented and departmental standards are maintained.
  • Perform Nutritional Assessments: Conduct thorough nutritional assessments and re-assessments to identify goals, recommend nutrition interventions, monitor, and evaluate patient progress.
  • Work with Interdisciplinary Teams: Collaborate with registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and physicians to assist patients in regaining their independence.
  • Develop and Monitor Enteral and/or Parenteral Nutrition Support Regimens: Work closely with the Speech Therapy Department to assist with the progression of textured modified diets to ensure patient safety and optimize oral intake.
  • Review and Approve Therapeutic Diet Manual: Review yearly updates and approve the therapeutic diet manual annually, educating clinical and food service staff on the location of the Nutrition Care Manual.
  • Stay Current with Nutritional Practices and Theories: Maintain current professional registration requirements, including self-development and continuing education, to further enhance professional skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition: A bachelor's degree with major studies in Food and Nutrition related field.
  • Current State Licensure/Certification: Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
  • Current Registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration: Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
  • One Year of Work Experience: One (1) year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.
