Responsibilities:
* Obtain vital signs and patient information for inclusion in the patient's medical record.
* Administer injections or treatments, perform routine laboratory tests, and assist in other patient care activities.
* Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
* Assist with physical examinations by preparing supplies and handing instruments and materials to the doctor as directed.
* Provide patients with basic instruction and information regarding examination procedures.
* Clean and sterilize medical instruments while observing the principles of sterile technique.
* Schedule patients for tests and complete required forms for laboratory work.
* Maintain accurate and complete patient records and documentation.
* Order, stock, and inventory supplies and escort and transport patients to various hospital locations.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant educational program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
* Approved MA certifications: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA.
* Minimum of 2 years previous experience.
