Role Overview
The LPN Extern is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient-focused care by performing various essential services related to daily living.
Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the LPN Extern aids the nursing team in ensuring a clean, organized, and safe environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, evidence-based care to patients as instructed by the physician or RN.
- Assist with medical procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as required.
- Accurately document the provision of care in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
- Act as a resource for department staff, students, and volunteers to facilitate quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a program to obtain LPN, with foundational courses and some clinical experience completed.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be acquired within 30 days of employment commencement.
- Graduate from a vocational school.
