Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN will provide resident care using various nursing competencies, including assessments, care planning, and implementation of interventions. The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills, ability to care for geriatric residents, and knowledge to assess, implement, and evaluate resident care needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and assign daily duties to nursing staff
  • Act as a resource for staff concerning resident care and needs
  • Implement physician orders and administer medications and treatments
  • Document pertinent information in resident's chart
  • Meet all documentation standards and follow through with all charting requirements
  • Collaborate with resident, family, and team to formulate individualized care plan
  • Work collaboratively with the team and management to coordinate care and manage outcomes
  • Implement appropriate care to meet spiritual, physical, psychological, and social needs
  • Act as an advocate for residents, staff, and others
Requirements:
  • Valid license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Virginia in good standing
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
Work Environment:

The Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with the team and management to coordinate care and manage outcomes. The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task and work as a team as well as independently.

Physical Demands:

The Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN will be required to walk, stand, reach, bend, and squat frequently, lift 25 pounds without assistance, and 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance.
