Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Evergreen Park, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field, participating in maintaining the readiness of the Operating Room, and maintaining a professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Functions in the scrub role on surgical procedures as a member of the surgical team
  • Preparation and maintenance of the sterile field
  • Participates in maintaining the readiness of the Operating Room
  • Maintains professional work environment
  • Demonstrates accountability for own self-development
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification from the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers
  • Fine motor skills
  • Ability to wear a surgical mask and gloves
  • Auditory skills which allow incumbent to hear individuals whose speech may be muffled
  • CPR certified
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and day of the week, including holidays and take call as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints
