The Logistics Operations Coordinator role at the Outdoor Cap Company, Inc. is a key position responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials, equipment, and products within our establishment. This individual will play a crucial role in receiving, storing, and distributing goods while adhering to established procedures and protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately reading shipment summaries, purchase orders, packing lists, bill of materials, and other relevant documents to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
  • They will efficiently pick orders with minimal supervision, prioritizing accuracy and timely completion.
  • This role requires collaboration with the Team Lead to ensure order completion, including labeling and checking to guarantee that labels contain correct information and are correctly placed on cartons according to customer guidelines.
  • The Logistics Operations Coordinator will move freight from cases to corresponding bins with precision, transferring freight from designated racks to assigned areas and maintaining forward bins stocked and organized.
  • Accurate sorting of packages by SKU for receiving and storage, as well as UPS and FedEx packages for trailer loading, is essential.
    • Utilization of hand-held scanners or tagging guns as needed.
    • Participation in meetings and functions as required, providing feedback and receiving constructive input.
    • Demonstrated willingness to assist in all areas of the department and warehouse in processing orders promptly.
    • Maintenance of a clean, organized, and safety-conscious work environment.
    • Performing all duties related to the department, including occasional overtime when necessary.
    • Consistent attendance is paramount; flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and needs is expected.
    • Identification of areas for improvement to maintain picking order, receiving product, packing, recovery, and returns processes.
    • Exemplification of the Company's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Material Handler Levels

Level 1: Entry-level position focusing on training.

  • Primary responsibilities include cart puller, order picker, and floor replenishment tasks.
  • Unload and load boxes (lumper) as required.

Level 2: Proven mastery of skills and abilities.

  • Possesses basic WMS system knowledge (location lookup, research).
  • Fully trained in Level 1 tasks.
  • Performs shipping and receiving duties with no errors.
  • Trained in pack duties.

Level 3: Advanced skills and abilities.

  • Able to perform duties in Levels 1-2.
  • Executes inventory control tasks, demonstrating intermediate WMS system knowledge.
  • Coordinates picking/packing processes among material handlers as a Wave Operator.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to comprehend operating instructions, procedure manuals, short correspondence, work orders, and bills of lading in English.
  • Understands the SKU process and recognizes inaccuracies in product, packaging, case pack, and description.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills in one-on-one settings with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Apply common sense understanding to execute simple instructions in standardized situations.
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask, highly organized, and follows directions precisely.
  • Trained and certified on various lifts: forklift, reach truck, stock picker, etc.
  • Possesses a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • 1+ years of distribution center experience.
    • Prior lift certifications a plus.
    • Verifiable work history.
    • Microsoft Office and WMS systems experience beneficial for advanced roles.

Physical Requirements

">
  • Primarily stands/walks (90% of the day), occasionally reaching, bending, and moving within the facility to move product.
  • Fine motor skills: wrist, hand, and finger movements required for pulling and inspecting orders.
  • Vision requirements: close visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Able to hear and effectively communicate with peers.
  • Lifting/moving up to 50+ pounds continually throughout the day.
  • Exposed to moderate dust and noise due to warehouse operations.
  • Works in an environment without climate controls.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
