Instructional Designer

The Aspen Group is seeking a skilled Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development team. As an Instructional Designer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing high-quality learning solutions that meet the needs of our diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop instructionally sound learning solutions and experiences
  • Support the design process, from needs analysis through design, development, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with other members of L&D to understand the intent of the learning and to improve the overall learner's experience
  • Contribute to needs analysis by researching related materials
  • Develop and/or improve content using a variety of modalities, including video, simulation, in-person learning, live virtual learning, and web-based
  • Organize and sequence learning materials into courses and curriculum plans on the LMS
  • Research and identify appropriate courses from our learning library, based on identified criteria
  • Assist with project management tasks, including building plans and updating detailed project sheets
  • Assess and recommend new development tools and applications
  • Support administrative tasks, including organization of our asset library, standards documentation, and template development
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years in a professional setting, preferably in a Learning and Development role
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theory and principles, such as ADDIE or similar processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including multiple Outlook accounts, Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Some interaction with LMS preferred
  • Good project management skills, able to organize and execute tasks and activities with urgency, and deliver work on time
  • Flexibility and agility to be proactive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Team player, highly motivated self-starter even under stressful conditions
  • Advocate for personal development that maintains field relevance and future interests and applications
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making skills, and critical thinking skills
  • Authentic and with a high degree of integrity
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and flexibility; open and responsive to feedback

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $80,000
