Key Responsibilities- The Nuclear Medicine Technologist employs their specialized modality to generate diagnostic images, ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients.
- In modalities that produce radiation, technologists implement and uphold the radiation safety protocols as mandated by the New York State Department of Health.
- Technologists are committed to ongoing education and skill enhancement as technology evolves, benefiting both themselves and their colleagues.
- The technologist is responsible for the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents.
- They prepare and position patients for imaging procedures and operate nuclear medicine instruments and imaging technology.
- Accountability for radiation safety, quality control measures, and the proper disposal of radioactive materials is essential, along with monitoring the work environment and patient areas to comply with NY State regulations.
- Experience with Epic software is mandatory.
The standard hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no on-call duties required.
