Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraprofessional to join our educational team in Bloomingdale, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks and classroom management.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing lessons and helping with assignments.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed by the teacher or special education team.
  • Monitor and support students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and other school functions.
  • Help prepare educational materials and organize classroom supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and activities.
  • Support students with special needs, including physical, emotional, and academic assistance.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.
  • Uphold school policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Paraprofessional certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student development.
  • Basic knowledge of educational practices and classroom management techniques.
  • Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical ability to assist students with mobility and other physical tasks as needed.
