Position Overview: The Residential Wireman will play a crucial role in the Residential division, focusing on the installation and repair of electrical systems in residential settings. This position may involve collaboration with contractors on new construction projects or providing service and repairs to existing homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot residential electrical systems in alignment with safety standards and operational goals.
  • Utilize both power and hand tools to set up electrical systems for single-family and multi-family homes.
  • Diagnose electrical issues and collaborate with team members to identify solutions and required materials.
  • Plan and schedule work based on project requirements and customer needs.
  • Travel to various job sites to address issues and gain insights into project specifics.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding project details and company information.
  • Report critical issues to project management with proposed solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; licensed electrician preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
  • Valid driver's license.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Proficient in installing power systems, lighting, fire detection, security, and data systems.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.
  • Ability to ensure compliance and functionality of installations.
  • Experience in project and crew management.
  • Capability to manage material estimates effectively.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to perform physical tasks such as walking, sitting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision capabilities should include close, distance, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception.

Work Environment

Employees may work in various conditions, including outdoor environments, and may encounter elements such as humidity, dust, and temperature variations. Safety precautions are essential due to potential risks associated with electrical work.
