Hayman Daugherty Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled Critical Care Physician to join our team in Palmer, Alaska.
About the Job
We are looking for a board-certified Critical Care Physician with at least two years of experience in critical care medicine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing essential critical care procedures, including central line placement, mechanical ventilation, and various other interventions.
The selected physician will work collaboratively with our experienced ICU team, providing comprehensive care for critically ill patients. This 3-month locum tenens position offers the chance to make a real difference in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise and contributing to patient management and advanced procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations for critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and condition.
- Perform essential critical care procedures, including central line placement, hemodialysis catheter placement, arterial line placement, endotracheal intubation, chest tube placement (both medical and surgical), lumbar punctures, and bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL).
- Continuously monitor and manage critically ill patients, utilizing advanced monitoring equipment and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical records system.
- Participate in patient rounds and discussions to ensure coordinated care.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current board certification in critical care medicine is mandatory.
- Valid and active state medical license is required.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in critical care medicine is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience performing the listed essential critical care procedures is required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are crucial.
- The ability to work independently while leading a team in a fast-paced and critical care environment is essential.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $250,000-$300,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, Hayman Daugherty Associates, Inc. offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement planning, and paid time off.
