Injection Molding Technician

Position Overview:
The Mold Setter is responsible for ensuring that injection molding machines are configured correctly to meet customer quality standards while achieving production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively and safely change molds as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.
- Promptly report any quality or scrap issues to the Production Supervisor or Lead Process Engineer.
- Remove and clean molds thoroughly after use.
- Ensure the MAG plate is cleaned on both sides.
- Collaborate with team leaders to develop and implement plans for mold and color changes.
- Set up associated machinery, including updating the RJG for new molds.
- Maintain a safe and organized mold storage area.
- Keep all mold change equipment in good working condition.
- Notify the Production Supervisor or Technical Manager of any damaged equipment.
- Utilize cranes safely for mold changes.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Complete the Mold Change Checklist accurately.
- Ensure the pit is cleared and all previous parts are properly tagged and removed.
- Monitor and maintain Gaylord and hopper levels.
- Ensure all material Gaylords are covered and properly labeled.
- Store materials in designated areas correctly.
- Empty and clean grinders and blenders as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in the injection molding field.
- Successful completion of a general mechanical aptitude assessment.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and early morning shifts as required.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
