Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that designated areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary, safe, and visually appealing manner, adhering to established protocols and under the guidance of a supervisor. The primary goal is to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Cleaning Duties

  • Adhere to the cleaning schedule and follow instructions as directed by the supervisor, covering resident rooms and communal areas.
  • Perform sweeping and vacuuming of all assigned spaces.
  • Clean and/or polish all furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and HVAC units in resident rooms and public spaces.
  • Wash windows and mirrors in resident rooms and communal areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of walls and ceilings through washing, wiping, dusting, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
  • Empty all waste receptacles.
  • Submit maintenance requests for general upkeep issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
  • Prepare model rooms and ensure that incoming residents' rooms are cleaned and ready for occupancy.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the employee break room as needed.
  • Check and replenish paper towels and soap dispensers as necessary.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
  • Keep janitorial closets and housekeeping supply areas organized and tidy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director.

Resident Rights

  • Ensure understanding and compliance with all regulations pertaining to residents' rights.

Training Requirements

  • Attend all mandatory in-service training sessions.

General Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and communicate company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • One year of relevant experience in a similar environment preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions at a level necessary to perform the job.
  • Capability to remain composed under pressure and make informed decisions.
  • Availability to work full or part-time on a regular schedule, including on-call shifts as needed.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public.
  • Compliance with all health requirements, including TB testing.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly population.
  • Availability to work Thursday, Friday, and Sundays from 6 AM to 2:30 PM.
