Mortgage Loan Originator

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team at Centric Federal Credit Union. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating mortgage loan documents to ensure they meet Credit Union and government standards.

• Review and evaluate mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet Credit Union and government standards.
• Approve or reject loan applications or request additional information as needed.
• Evaluate the acceptability of loans to be sold on secondary mortgage markets.
• Assemble documents in loan files, including acceptance or denial, and return files to the originating mortgage loan department.
• Record loan rejections, specifying investor and Credit Union guidelines and basis for declining applications.

• Ensure Credit Union and government standards are met at all times, with minimal errors on all documents.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and coworkers.
• Underwrite new files weekly and clear conditions on files weekly.
• Produce underwriting decisions in a timely manner.
• Ensure closing documents are in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate and maintain good working knowledge of Credit Union and government standards through continued research.
• Organize and complete member loan files within prescribed time frames.

• Three to five years of similar or related experience.
• A two-year college degree or completion of specialized certification or licensing.
• Good communication skills and ability to motivate or influence others.
• 10-key calculator, typewriter, and keyboard skills.
