This role is essential in ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for laboratory animals while providing valuable support to the Biology Research Lab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing daily care for small laboratory animals, which includes checking and replenishing food and water supplies, monitoring environmental conditions, and observing for any signs of illness or injury.
  • Preparing and sanitizing rodent habitats with appropriate food, bedding, and hydration sources.
  • Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities within the animal facility.
  • Supporting the preparation of materials for biology laboratory activities and participating in general cleaning duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment as a student at UTPB or holding a relevant bachelor's degree.
  • Willingness to acquire skills in animal care and equipment maintenance.
  • Prior experience in handling animals is advantageous.
