About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Centene. As a key member of our technology organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our platform infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Projects and Initiatives: Help lead projects focused on managing and maintaining optimum platform infrastructure performance, reliability, and security using SRE practices, observability tools, manual and automated procedures, documentation, people, and processes.
  • Develop Complex Services: Develop complex services to automate monitoring activities and provide critical information to facilitate response and resolution of performance and availability issues and incidents.
  • Advocate for Standardized Tools: Understand and advocate for standardized and scalable software tools to ensure that systems operate without interruption at optimum performance.
  • Lead Project Teams: Lead project teams through the deployment process, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Troubleshoot and Analyze: Troubleshoot and analyze service disruptions to determine the root cause of issues and develop solutions for improved reliability.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with development teams to investigate and document issues and lead internal teams to develop solutions to mitigate them.
  • Communicate Complex Topics: Communicate complex topics with development teams to investigate and document issues.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including complying with all policies and standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science). Requires 4 - 6 years of related experience.
  • Technical Skills: One or more of the following skills are desired: experience with Linux Operating System, Operating Systems, Unix Operating System, Windows Operating System, observability/monitoring tools, enterprise level CICD Tools, working in public cloud platforms, programming tools, database management systems, and IT service management tools.
  • Soft Skills: Intermediate - seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty, intermediate - ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, intermediate - ability to work independently, intermediate - demonstrated analytical skills, intermediate - demonstrated project management skills, intermediate - demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure, and intermediate - demonstrates excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
