Job Summary

The WEX Site Reliability Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated and quick-learning individual to join our team as a Site Reliability Engineer Level 1. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in training and mentorship programs to gain a deep understanding of SRE principles and practices.
  • Support senior SREs in architecting and implementing highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Observe and assist senior SREs during incident response efforts, gaining practical experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Gain familiarity with automation tools used to streamline operational tasks and improve system reliability.
  • Work closely with development teams to gain an understanding of how software design impacts operational requirements.
  • Shadow senior SREs in forecasting capacity needs and implementing strategies for system scalability.
  • Develop an understanding of security best practices and how they apply to system design and operation.

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of experience in a technical role (internships and relevant coursework considered).
  • Basic understanding of at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
  • Foundational knowledge of Cloud Computing platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team environment.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive base pay range: $66,000.00 - $87,000.00.
