Job Summary

Linn County Department of Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health Department, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals with serious and persistent mental illnesses or ongoing developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform internal and case management tasks to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide support to case holders (QMHPs) to enhance their ability to provide high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with community partners to develop and maintain community resource lists.
  • Assist with internal workflow to ensure efficient service delivery.
Requirements
  • Considerable understanding of the basic needs necessary for persons to live in a community setting.
  • Ability to assist clients in the acquisition of services for these basic needs.
  • Ability to assist in the development of client rehabilitation and treatment plans.
  • Ability to perform very basic coordinated services.
  • Ability to refer to the appropriate staff person clients who need counseling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with case management/clinical staff who have overall responsibility for coordinating services to the client.
  • Ability to develop clear and concise report skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products as required by the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from a two-year college or university with primary coursework in a behavioral sciences field.
  • Combination of at least two year's of training or work experience serving people with serious and persistent mental illnesses or people with ongoing developmental disabilities.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license and an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment.
