Investment Operations Manager

Job Summary
Oregon State Treasury is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investment Operations Manager to join our team. This role will oversee the day-to-day activities of the investment operations team, ensuring accurate and timely data and reporting, as well as review of investments for state-managed assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the investment operations team, ensuring the team is equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Oversee data and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review investments for state-managed assets, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Collaborate with external third-party relationships, including custodians, service providers, and consultants, to ensure all necessary information is managed and disseminated.
- Provide coordination and process oversight of investment analytics, reporting, reconciliation, data management, confirmation, trade settlement, and other operational services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills.
- Four years of investment management experience, and three years of supervisory experience.
- Graduate-level degree in any of the above areas, or Chartered Financial Analyst Designation, may substitute for two of the four years.
Desired Attributes
- Experience working with institutional investments, such as asset management, investment consulting, or for a corporate or public pension plan.
- Experience working within trade operations, knowledge of investment operations, investment performance attribution, investment types, asset classes, sectors, factors, benchmarking, and peer group comparison techniques.
- Experience with investment performance measurement, capital market, alternative investments, trades, and trade settlement.
- Experience with investment benchmarking, managed data and reconciliations across multiple platforms from various third-party data providers.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, and ability to calculate and interpret various investment rate of return methodologies.
- Understanding of exposure for repo and variation margin and reconciliation with counterparties and Futures Clearing Merchants (FCM) and ability to evaluate eligibility of collateral and coordinate with Portfolio Managers where collateral needs to be posted or received.
- Experience with Blackrock Aladdin.
