UCLA Extension is recognized as a premier institution, serving over 35,000 learners annually with approximately 4,500 classes and non-degree certificate programs tailored to the professional development, continuing education, and personal enrichment needs of a diverse range of nontraditional students and organizations.
Course / Program Description
The Department of Engineering provides a broad array of certificate programs and courses, including post-baccalaureate credit-bearing (400-level) and continuing education (CEU) credit courses. The disciplines encompass engineering and technical management areas. UCLA Extension courses and certificate programs allow students to learn from highly qualified professionals who possess advanced degrees and a passion for teaching, imparting knowledge in their areas of expertise.
Job Description
We are seeking a Blockchain Technology Management instructor to deliver fully online courses on a quarterly basis and beyond.
Ideal candidates will have the ability to share their industry expertise and insights with students, utilizing real-world examples and applications of the course material. Industry experience is essential.
Multiple positions are available within the Blockchain Technology Management program. Qualified applicants with current knowledge and teaching experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
• Fundamentals of Blockchain Management
• Blockchain Solutions, Governance, and Collaboration
• Digital Transformation: Blockchain, IoT, AI, and Trusted Data
• Blockchain Technology Adoption and Implementation
• Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Business and Applications
Instructor Duties:
• Develop and/or revise existing course syllabi in collaboration with the UCLA Extension Program Director as assigned using the approved syllabus template.
• Prepare course materials and assessments in Canvas, or update existing ones.
• Clearly communicate course objectives and specific learning outcomes to students.
• Conduct weekly online office hours via Zoom for students to discuss course-related topics and Q&A.
• Engage with students' discussion posts on Canvas regularly to foster high engagement and collaboration for an optimal learning experience.
• Monitor students' progress throughout the course and provide timely grading.
• Address student inquiries and learning needs promptly.
• Submit final letter grades in a designated portal at the conclusion of each quarter.

Basic qualifications
• A passion for teaching, subject matter expertise, and a commitment to course-related development and maintenance.
• MBA, MA, or MS with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Professionals who are current with the latest tools, technologies, and innovations in the industry.
• Professionals holding key positions within their industries.
• Teaching experience at the college level or higher (Preferred)
• Experience designing curriculum on Canvas (or similar) and measuring student performance (Preferred)
