Job Summary

The People Concern is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, CES and Housing Navigation to lead our Regional Coordination and Housing Navigation programs. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing agency-wide administration and oversight to our LAHSA-funded programs, ensuring that our services are delivered with the highest quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with community partners, including health providers, businesses, and social service organizations, to reduce homelessness and provide access to permanent housing.
  • Collaborate with LAHSA's Housing Central Command, CES Leadership Team, and housing providers to remove barriers to permanent housing and provide effective tracking, housing, and reporting of outcomes.
  • Provide administrative supervision to the SPA Wide Matcher and Housing Navigation Program, ensuring that all contracts are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Facilitate team case conferences with community partners, providing crisis intervention and support to clients facing medical and mental health challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to identify appropriate services for clients, considering their physical and cognitive needs.
  • Oversee and manage file review for grant documentation and eligibility, ensuring that all necessary records are maintained and up-to-date.
  • Conduct training for staff to ensure that file and documentation standards are met, and contract outcomes and goals are achieved.
  • Generate HMIS reports, locate errors, and provide follow-up reports to staff for corrective action.
  • Assist with program and fiscal audits, ensuring that all necessary records and documentation are maintained.
  • Direct the interview process for all open positions, ensuring that all Annual Reviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • Oversight and integration of community-serving resources, such as United Way Flex Funds and LAHSA's Skid Row Housing Assistance Program.
  • Act as the liaison with all housing authorities and housing providers, ensuring that all necessary information is shared and coordinated.
  • Provide oversight regarding hiring practices, ensuring that they are diverse and equitable, reflecting the diversity of the population served.
  • Oversee staff management practices, monitoring staff's receipt of adequate training and ensuring that they abide by all agency and department policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance and training for matching-related functions or new resources.
  • Attend all meetings requested by funders (LAHSA).

Requirements

  • BA required, Master's degree (preferred) in mental health field (Social Work, MFT, or Psychology).
  • Extensive experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, substance addiction, and medical challenges.
  • Understanding of Housing First and Harm Reduction philosophy.
  • At least 3 years' experience providing direct supervision and management of staff.
  • Experience managing and providing oversight to multiple teams, preferred.

Work Environment

The Director, CES and Housing Navigation will work in a combination of field and office environments, requiring regular sitting, standing, bending, and occasional lifting or carrying up to 35 pounds. The position will necessitate working in busy and loud environments, with exposure to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor. The Director will be required to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day.
