Journeyman Plumber

Amentum is seeking a Qualified Journeyman Plumber to deliver critical services at our operational site, where you will independently execute construction and maintenance duties as a skilled plumbing professional.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret US government security clearance (Note: US Citizenship is mandatory for this clearance).

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of plumbing systems and piping, executing both corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Install and repair plumbing fixtures, pipes, and resolve drainage issues.
  • Adhere to plumbing regulations to properly install vents and traps within the system.
  • Efficiently utilize specialized plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors for facility-related projects.
  • Perform pipe cutting, threading, and bending as required.
  • Assemble and install valves, fittings, and piping systems.
  • Conduct inspections for leaks within plumbing systems.
  • Supervise other maintenance staff when assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of four years of plumbing experience or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • Possession of a DC journeyman plumber license.
  • Certification in backflow prevention is required.
  • Must successfully pass a government background check for eligibility.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license is necessary.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
