Job Summary

Mental Health Support Specialists work in mental health facilities and medical centers to provide care, nurturing, treatment, education, socialization, habilitation, recovery, healing, and support to individuals diagnosed with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and instruct individuals in developing necessary skills to attain personal goals, live, be educated, work, and socialize successfully in the community.
  • Provide behavior therapy to children and related developmental disabilities under the guidance of licensed clinicians.
Requirements
  1. Graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma (such as a GED).
  2. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One (1) year of full-time direct patient care experience working in a mental health setting.
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $43,000 - $53,000 per year, based on the location in Syracuse, NY.
