Position Overview:
The Physical Therapy Patient Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the Physical Therapy Department. This position is responsible for managing patient interactions and ensuring a smooth administrative process for both patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and their families with professionalism as they arrive for their appointments, either in person or via phone, and promptly inform the relevant staff of their presence to minimize wait times.
- Maintain and organize departmental records and files accurately to ensure efficient access to patient information and treatment data.
- Compile and submit monthly treatment statistics within a specified timeframe for departmental review and reporting.
- Process all patient charges accurately and in a timely manner using the departmental computer system to support billing and revenue generation.
- Facilitate the processing of necessary patient and insurance documentation to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Respond to requests for patient treatment information in accordance with established medical records policies.
- Handle patient pre-registration, registration, and scheduling, optimizing the workflow to enhance clinic efficiency.
- Complete all necessary prior authorization processes required by third-party payers to secure payment for services rendered.
Work Schedule:
Specific hours will be established to meet departmental needs.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required.
