Role SummaryThis position involves assisting in the preparation and defense of regulatory submissions related to company policies and regulations. The role requires interaction with state regulatory bodies concerning customer complaints, escalated matters, and the proper application of both company and regulatory administrative guidelines. You will support the company's regulatory objectives before regulators, key community stakeholders, and various internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the creation of regulatory submissions pertaining to company policies and regulations, including testimonies, exhibits, data responses, and supporting documents for state commissions.
• Act as a representative of the company to advocate for regulatory initiatives to regulators, community stakeholders, and internal departments.
• Analyze and interpret regulations to ensure compliance by internal and external parties.
• Engage in training and communication efforts regarding changes to regulations.
• Provide analytical support and recommendations to management regarding regulatory policies and strategies.
• Conduct cost analyses related to Schedule 300 charges across various states, collaborating with relevant business units to prepare testimonies and respond to data requests.
• Work with state regulatory commissions to address customer complaints and ensure compliance with administrative rules.
• Participate in formal proceedings related to customer complaints and hearings.
• Address escalated issues promptly, focusing on service recovery for customers.
• Recommend and implement process improvements in collaboration with business units to enhance efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned, including liaising with low-income assistance organizations and identifying strategies to minimize customer complaints.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of experience in a regulatory environment.
• Solid understanding of relevant company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Proficient in using personal computers, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and presentation software for data analysis and modeling.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of consulting with internal and external stakeholders on sensitive issues.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and individuals.
• Competence in presenting alternatives and recommendations.
• Project management skills, including leadership, task identification, scheduling, and budget management.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
