Job Title: Construction Project Administrator

Job Summary

The Construction Project Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring that outside plant (OSP) construction work meets industry standards and cost expectations. This position is responsible for inspecting the work of Ziply Fiber OSP contractors and guiding the work efforts of contract inspectors to ensure timely completion, quality work, and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aerial and underground inspections, audits, and corrections in accordance with the NESC and Ziply standards.
  • Assign and dispatch work to contract inspectors via email or online database applications.
  • Develop and implement new processes, process documentation, web applications, and field software involving NESC inspections and corrections.
  • Train contract personnel in accepted aerial plant inspection and correction methods.
  • Resolve issues with vendors, municipalities, and citizens impacted by fiber deployment.
  • Process invoices and work within project workflow databases to review and process vendor invoicing.
  • Support Ziply Fiber values and work with team members across various disciplines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in OSP construction and/or OSP engineering.
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the NESC, OSP construction techniques, and telecom industry OSP best practices.
  • Ability to work with team members to ensure timely completion, quality work, and safe working practices.
  • Ability to learn new systems and applications.
  • Intermediate understanding of the as-built process for closing out OSP construction projects.
  • Basic understanding of the NJUNS database and familiarity of joint use processes.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
