Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Hastings Independent School District 200. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and services to students with communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and assess students, develop integrated goals and outcomes, and provide specialized instruction as outlined in Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Educate parents and other stakeholders regarding the provision of services and support.
  • Provide a range of services, including home visits, daycare visits, indirect services, and consultation, to ensure the effective provision of services to students.
  • Consult with parents and other service providers to ensure the effective provision of services and support.
  • Collaborate with parents and other service providers to develop and implement plans to support student progress and achievement.
  • Plan and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of each student's progress and adjust instruction and services as needed.
  • Encourage and instruct parents and caregivers in appropriate methods to support their child's communication development.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including evaluations, observations, progress reports, and records, as required by district policies, state and federal regulations.
  • Provide and maintain third-party billing documentation for eligible students.
  • Provide case management services for students with IFSPs and IEPs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education.
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience working with a wide range of communication needs and disorders.
  • Experience in due process procedures, including conducting evaluations, writing IFSPs/IEPs, progress monitoring, and meeting facilitation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing and family interview skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing program and student needs.
  • Knowledge of all due process requirements and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to adapt equipment and materials for children with disabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to interact with and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, parents, and other stakeholders of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous related experience in early childhood special education and speech-language pathology.
