Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Level Design Engineer to join our team at Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. in Las Cruces, NM.

This is a senior-level position that requires a strong background in design engineering, with a focus on developing and implementing solutions for complex challenges in the nuclear and environmental fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing, recommending, and designing hardware or infrastructure improvements
  • Evaluating software
  • Instrumentation and controls
  • Coordinating with other WSTF contractors
  • Coordinating with Navarro IT
  • Supporting treatment system maintenance and troubleshooting activities with team members in accordance with applicable site safety and operational requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining specific task instructions and providing guidance and/or oversight to treatment system technicians.
  • Preparing and presenting engineering design project reports to remediation system team members, Navarro and other site contractor management, and NASA project and management personnel.
  • Developing statements of work or procurement documentation for system upgrades or repairs.
  • Working with other WSTF contractors or off-site subcontractors and equipment/software technical support representatives to facilitate the above activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Chemistry, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional experience in scientific, regulatory, environmental consulting, contracting or related industry. A master's degree from an accredited university may substitute one year of professional experience.
  • Must have a current valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is between $120,000 to $150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
