Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a range of projects, varying from small to large scale, with a focus on high complexity.
  • Direct the technical aspects of projects, ensuring effective discipline coordination and providing guidance to the design team.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Revit; familiarity with clash coordination strategies is advantageous.
  • Interpret and apply relevant building codes and regulations from various authorities.
  • Prepare and modify documentation across different architectural phases, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, and details.
  • Engage in the bidding and negotiation processes, preparing necessary addenda.
  • Lead the construction administration phase, collaborating with the design team on tasks such as reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and preparing site observation reports.
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, conduct value analysis, and perform basic cost estimating.
  • Assist in drafting project specifications and ensure alignment with construction documents.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and maintain quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior staff to foster professional growth and enhance team capabilities.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • In-depth knowledge of accessibility codes and applicable building regulations.
  • Strong understanding of architectural document production and the interplay between drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in building construction systems, methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to conduct space planning and develop effective floor plans and details.
  • Capable of reviewing the work of others for accuracy and completeness while managing project timelines and budgets.
  • Experience leading teams through all phases of architectural document production.
  • Effective collaboration skills in a team environment.
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in hand sketching and communicating design concepts clearly.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and project programs effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to lead discussions remotely.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Architectural licensure is required; California licensure is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in industrial, transit, or urban development projects.
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP certification is a plus.

Work Environment

This role typically involves working in an office setting with extensive computer use. Fieldwork may require exposure to various weather conditions.
