Job SummaryThe Procurement Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and equipment for our operations. This position requires a strong understanding of procurement principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Negotiate with Vendors: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and delivery terms.
- Procurement Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify procurement needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials and equipment to ensure accurate inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain procurement reports to provide insights into spending trends and areas for improvement.
- Supplier Management: Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to meet our quality, price, and delivery requirements.
- Purchase Order Management: Prepare and issue purchase orders to ensure timely receipt of materials and equipment.
- Contract Management: Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Surplus Disposal: Arrange for the disposal of surplus materials and equipment in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Inventory Audits: Participate in cycle counts, month-end inventories, and annual physical inventories to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in procurement or a related field.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional standing, stooping, and bending.
