Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at BLT Management LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical work required for installation, operation, and maintenance of our equipment, systems, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on building mechanical equipment, including HVAC units and exhaust fans.
  • Replace or clean filters on common area HVAC units, and perform routine inspections to ensure proper operation.
  • Inspect and clean coils, and schedule annual inspections with approval from leadership.
  • Respond to HVAC work orders and regular work orders, and troubleshoot and replace motors, compressors, and other equipment as needed.
  • Perform seasonal preventive maintenance on heat pumps, and conduct life safety inspections as required.
  • Work with vendors as needed, and ensure that all work meets required codes and company policies.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in the HVAC trade industry.
  • Knowledge of local and national mechanical codes, and ability to read and work from blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, and work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Basic plumbing and piping skills, and basic electrical skills.
  • Knowledge of the Jersey City Fire Safety Manager Program preferred, but not required.
