Field Engineer Responsibilities

  • Conducts on-site maintenance and repair of semiconductor manufacturing machinery.
  • Diagnoses and resolves equipment malfunctions.
  • Installs new machinery at client locations.
  • Keeps accurate records and reports as necessary.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and clients to reduce equipment downtime and service interruptions.
  • Procures and installs necessary components.
  • Responds to urgent service requests as needed.
  • Trains client personnel on system operation and upkeep.
  • Implements upgrades and modifications to existing equipment as required.
  • Stays updated on equipment and tools through training, manuals, and industry publications.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, security, and care of company assets, including vehicles and tools.
  • Must uphold professional conduct standards acceptable to both the company and clients to maintain site access.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology preferred; Associate's Degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field is acceptable.
  • Experience in electrical or mechanical fields or military service may substitute for formal education.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment is advantageous.
  • Individuals with military backgrounds often excel in these positions.
  • Strong customer interaction skills are essential.
  • Mechanical skills and proficiency with relevant tools are necessary.
  • A comprehensive understanding of technical challenges related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of company equipment and procedures is required.

Physical Requirements:

Job responsibilities may involve working in confined spaces, clean room environments, and at heights. Candidates must possess mechanical skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 35 pounds. The role may require bending, stooping, crawling, or climbing. Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols is necessary when handling hazardous materials or conditions.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel expectations vary by team, with options for 0-100% travel available, accompanied by additional financial incentives.
