At DHVAJ, we are seeking a highly skilled Psychotherapist to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of mental health care principles and practices.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, formulating differential diagnoses, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive treatment planning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental health status, including history, symptoms, and functional abilities.
  • Formulate Differential Diagnoses: Based on clinical findings, formulate accurate and effective diagnoses, and collaborate with healthcare teams to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and Monitor Medications: Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting dosages and treatment regimens as necessary based on patient response and side effects.
  • Counseling and Therapy: Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address mental health issues and promote recovery.
  • Crisis Intervention and Management: Assess and intervene during psychiatric emergencies or crisis situations, ensuring patient safety and appropriate care coordination.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: A Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Professional Certifications: Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Licensure and Experience: Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Indiana and/or Kentucky, with prescriptive authority and experience in psychiatric and mental health nursing.

  • Strong Clinical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Autonomy and Judgment: Ability to work autonomously and make independent clinical judgments while adhering to evidence-based practice guidelines.

Estimated Salary: $125,000 - $145,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
