As a Packing Associate, you will contribute to a collaborative and inclusive environment focused on delivering high-quality baked goods. Your primary responsibility will be to pack products in accordance with specified case counts and quality standards, under the direction of the Production Manager or Supervisor. This role is ideal for individuals who value attention to detail, teamwork, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pack production units into cases, adhering to established specifications.
- Verify that packed product units meet quality and product criteria, including aspects such as color, weight, height, length, appearance, and core temperature.
- Insert necessary materials such as master case liners, baking instructions, and retail bags into formed cases.
- Ensure finished cases are correctly coded and labeled.
- Properly place finished cases on pallets and ensure accurate labeling.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of packaging documentation.
- Prepare box cartons with correct labels for packaged products, ensuring box labelers function correctly.
- Operate various packaging machinery, including but not limited to metal detectors, product counters, case erectors, bag inserters, conveyors, box labelers, box tapers, pallet jacks, pallet wrappers, and bag counters.
- Assist in collating retail bags according to production schedules as needed.
- Complete tasks in compliance with quality assurance standards, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety protocols, and relevant regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational background is preferred.
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing setting is advantageous.
- Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently carry loads exceeding 20 lbs.
