Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Director of Reinsurance to process reinsurance notices and billing, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Process cash recoveries on reinsurance bills, identifying potential errors or inconsistencies and providing solutions.
  • Assist in ceded reinsurance reconciliations, reviewing and identifying inconsistencies, and providing solutions for improved outcomes.
  • Develop and manage reinsurance recoverable aging reports, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
  • Monitor, track, and apply cash for reinsurance transactions through financial software, ensuring all monies are accounted for.
  • Utilize software, data analysis tools, and relevant technologies to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
  • Identify, investigate, and provide solutions to resolve issues affecting Company financial results.
  • Communicate with reinsurers regarding reinsurance accounting on reinsurance bookings, providing guidance and resolving questions.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Claims, Finance, and Enterprise Risk Management teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Proof documents and calculations to ensure data quality requirements are met.
  • Review and interpret contracts relative to reinsurance calculations, providing guidance on reinsurance.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, strong commitment, and accountability.
  • Able to challenge appropriately, supporting business cases with facts and information.
  • Strong ability to quickly assess and offer effective solutions to problems efficiently.
  • Self-directed with the ability to make sound judgments independently while knowing when to bring situations to the attention of Management.
  • Familiarity with reinsurance concepts, processes, and terminology is desirable.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a comparable field.
  • 1-3 years' experience in insurance claim processing, billing, or receivable.
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated high accuracy output.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables) including database management expertise and large data sets.
