Cancer Health Disparities Research Chair

We are seeking a distinguished researcher and academic leader to fill the Cancer Health Disparities SmartState Endowed Chair position at the University of South Carolina. This esteemed role is part of a state-wide SmartState Program designed to integrate research activities across the state and promote economic development.
Key Responsibilities- Establish a research program focused on cancer health disparities, leveraging resources to build a team and collaborations across USC's Schools of Medicine, Colleges of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Social Work, as well as with clinical researchers at Prisma Health.
- Develop and lead the Cancer Health Disparities Research Initiative, an initiative under the USC Center for Health Equity.
- Contribute to the academic mission of the USCSOMG Department of Biomedical Sciences, with an appointment based on research and professional preparation.
- Ph.D. or M.D. degree in cancer biology, epidemiology, health services research, or a closely related field.
- Established record of extramural funding and high-impact publications in cancer health disparities research.
- Demonstrated expertise in interdisciplinary research collaboration, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in teaching and mentoring students.
- Additional experience in teaching and mentoring students, as well as a commitment to promoting health equity and addressing health disparities.
