Position Overview

Drew University is looking for qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Athletic Trainer. This position is under the supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine and Performance and is structured as a 10-month role that includes benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive athletic training services, which encompass initial injury assessments, treatment protocols, development and management of rehabilitation plans, and evaluations for athletes' readiness to return to play.
  • Conduct baseline assessments for athletes to monitor their health and performance.
  • Be present at scheduled team practices and both home and away competitions as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with team physicians, coaches, and athletes to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Participate in educational symposiums and professional meetings to promote ongoing professional growth and meet continuing education obligations.
  • Execute administrative tasks as necessary to support the athletic training program.
  • Provide daily updates to the head athletic trainer regarding injury status, rehabilitation progress, and athlete-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • NATABOC Certification
  • New Jersey State License
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
