About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN) to join our team at US Oncology, Inc. in an oncology setting. As a PRN LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of increasing access to and advancing the delivery of cancer care in America.

Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid physician during examination and procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
  • Perform EKG and oximetry readings as required by physician.
  • Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
  • Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
  • Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited program for practical nursing education.
  • 0-3 years' experience required, preferably in an oncology environment.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
